Nathan just managed to stack four Duplo-like blocks on top of each other, without parental intervention. I'm not sure, but should a one-year old be able to do that?
Maybe he was bored because he had to listen me practice my speech for 45 minutes ;-)
No, an average one-year old wouldn't be able to do that.
According to the book J. and I gave you, "Teach your Child" (red cover in case you will be looking for it and dusting it off :P), a one-year old would be able to stack two regular blocks on top of each other. A two-year old would be able to stack four regular blocks on top of each other.
The book doesn't mention Duplo blocks, but because those are harder to stack on top of each other, you could conclude Nathan may either be very handy, or that it was coincidence. Time will tell...
Well, according to that book, Elias was behind on a number of things, yet he seemed pretty advanced in some respects compared to his peers. He still has trouble dressing and undressing, yet that's because we help him because we're usually in a hurry as he likes to sleep late.
I think Nathan is quite handy at the moment, but that may very well change in the next few months. Once he advances his speech he'll have less time to practise movement. He is an angry little bugger at times though when something does not work as he thinks it should.
