Today, Nathan has been making a few (succesful) attempts at grabbing toys we offer him. He also started to examine his hands, holding them together and staring intently at them. For now, his toy is a small stuffed version of Piglet (with a hole in his chest, making him easier to hold).
Yesterday, Nathan smiled for the first time in a conscious manner. He responded to Veerle talking to him and laughing, and he found out what all those muscles in his face really are for. He's also making noises, that do not resemble crying in any way. He sounds awesome!
Over the past week, Elias has been using his fantasy for the first time to have his toy play and communicate with each other. The first conversation we noticed went between his Nookie and one of his cars. 'Who are you?' 'I am a car'. He put his finger in the head of the Nookie as we do, and made him nod as he spoke. It was quite cool to see. Over the last days he repeated this and similar conversations with other toys. I guess we'll have to start being very careful on how we talk about fictitious things.
